The story
The MF 135 was the smallest model in Massey Ferguson's new 100 series, the 'Red Giants', shown at the Smithfield Show at the end of 1964. It replaced the MF 35 and carried on the Ferguson three-point hitch idea that began with the Ferguson TE-20.
Its simple three-cylinder Perkins diesel was famous for being tough and easy to fix, and it was built in huge numbers at Banner Lane in Coventry, with other versions made in the USA and France. In 1967 alone more than 43,000 were made.
Many are still working today, especially in developing countries, and it is one of the most loved classic tractors in Britain.
