The story
Fendt launched the 1000 Vario at Agritechnica in November 2015 as the most powerful conventional (rigid-frame) tractor of its time, with the 1050 as the 500 hp flagship. Fendt said it had created a new class of tractor, sitting between big conventional tractors and articulated or tracked giants.
Its big MAN engine was designed to run slowly, doing most of its work between about 1,100 and 1,500 rpm to save fuel, and its stepless Vario transmission drives each axle with its own hydraulic motor. All 1000 Vario tractors are built in Fendt's home factory at Marktoberdorf in Bavaria.
In 2025 Fendt announced the fourth-generation 1000 Vario, in which the 1040 to 1052 models replace the 1050.
No Fendt 1050 Vario listings yet. Dealers and private sellers will be able to list them here soon.
