The story
The Magnum is Case IH's big row-crop tractor, first launched in 1987 and built in Racine, Wisconsin, where more than 150,000 have been made. The AFS Connect Magnum, announced in early 2019, kept the proven 8.7-litre FPT engine but added an all-new cab, a new armrest and joystick, and a 12-inch AFS Pro 1200 screen.
Its big change was connectivity: farmers and dealers can check the tractor's data, such as fuel level and service information, from a distance, and dealers can diagnose some faults remotely. The Magnum 340 sits in the middle of the range and can be bought with wheels or with Rowtrac rear tracks.
Did you knowThe 150,000th Magnum to leave the Racine plant was painted silver to mark the milestone.
